If You Ever Wondered "Why?" We're Heading To Haiti...

We love sharing our pictures and our stories but hearing directly from us you can hear our hearts.
Please take a moment to watch the video from us speaking about "Why?" we're headed to Haiti.

We had the opportunity to share at our River Valley Church
main campus in Apple Valley this weekend.
We consider it an honor and blessing to encourage others.
So grateful for all the amazing staff, meeting new people and seeing friends!

Writing this made me think about a few weeks ago when we were helping remove brush from Barrett's sisters' back yard up on Gambrill Mountain. The older kids went right for the Big Stuff. They were tugging and breaking and pulling it right out of there! All this time, Anders was right there with them wanting to get the Biggest Stuff he could! He was tugging and breaking and pulling so hard his little face was bright red but his branches we're really small compared to the other kids. After we were finished I told the kids they all did a great job and we had great team work! It was in Anders heart to help move the mountain and it didn't matter how much of the mountain he moved because he did what he could and THAT made a difference.

Do We Really Smell That Bad?!

Do we really smell that bad after over 3,500 miles in a minivan, Tonka?!
Tonka was happy to see us...I guess?

We are back in Minnesota!
We are so thankful to those who helped make our fundraiser sale a huge success in Middletown, especially Christy Adkins Butler for organizing and her grandparents for hosting, family who opened their homes to us and New Day Church in Cumberland for inviting us to speak! We enjoyed meeting so many new people and visiting with friends and family.

Barrett, Christy & Carrie at the fundraiser sale

O'Brien Kids always smiling!
They donated a Huge jug of money!

Abbi losing her mind after many,
many miles in the van with the boys!
Anders may or may not be happy about the long car ride and pink party hat.
He had fun at the party though!

Middletown Fundraiser-Back in the Vallley!

July 5th 2013

Middletown Fundraiser

It’s so exciting for me to be back in my hometown and we feel especially blessed that our friends are putting on a fundraising sale for us today & tomorrow!  If you are in the area please stop by and see us, we would love to see you!

The fundraiser is located at 705 E. Main Street in Middletown.

Friday July 5th 8am-6pm

Saturday July 6th 8am-3pm

Progress updates:

Our goal date for the move to Haiti is August 17th.

Our current monthly sponsorship is at $1,580

We need to be at $5,800 a month before we leave.

Please consider being a monthly sponsor, no amount is too small, one brick doesn’t build a wall but thousands of bricks can build a city!

Typical Monthly sponsorship levels, however, please let your heart be your guide; whatever you can do would be a blessing to us and the Haitian people.

$10 - $20 - $25 - $50 - $75 - $100 - $ 150 - $ 250 - $ 500

Thank you so much for your prayers and continued support!

God Bless,

Barrett and Carrie Todd

Moving Out & Forward!

We’ve had some busy days and it doesn’t look like it’s going to slow down anytime soon!  We just finished our garage sale here in MN and are in the process of sorting & packing, what goes to Haiti, what goes to storage, what to sell, what to keep out, trying to think ahead, it’s a task! (went to take Brodie’s bed apart and found that “someone” ahem, Anders most likely, knows how to use wire cutters and “they” cut the cord to the drill charger) J We move out of our place on Friday and from there we’ll be heading out East for a week and a half to visit with friends and family. Don’t worry, the wire cutters will be packed away!
We will be having a fundraising garage/yardsale in my hometown, Middletown, MD on July 5th and 6th.  It will be located at 705 East Main Street (just west of the Safeway).  If you live in the area, we are looking for donated items to sell and some volunteers to help with the sale. Please contact Christy Butler (240) 405-9851 to arrange times for drop offs and if you’d like to help. Christy has been a huge blessing so please tell her thank you too! We’ll be there both Friday & Saturday. We hope to see you!  If you’d like to get together while we’re out there please give me a call at 703-728-4505 or send me an email at toddfamilyhaiti@gmail.com. We're driving from Minnesota to the East Coast so if you live along the way, let us know and we'll swing by to say "Hi"!
If you haven’t received our newsletter, please send us your address & we’d be happy to add you to our mailing list.
God Bless!
Barrett & Carrie Todd
Dates we’ll be out East: June 29- July 10
Middletown Sale - July 5 8am-6pm & July 6 8am-3pm

Reality is setting in...

"...and rivets us with a pain that is terrific to one thing we never dreamed of, and for one radiant flashing moment we see what He is after, and we say-"Here am I, send me." Oswald Chambers

Abbi took this picture the other day. She saw the heart first, then added the flowers and after she took the photo, she saw the trees and sky. When I saw it, I said "Oh, you found my heart! Great! I've been looking for it for several months now!" She said "Ummm..this is a heart in the dirt, Your heart is in Haiti with Mine." Beautiful, both she and the picture.

Reality is setting in, our lease is up the end of June and I am sorting out winter things. Our goal is to move to Haiti this August. Researching schooling options, shipping info, medical info, how long will a tube of toothpaste last us, all the logistics of this can be overwhelming at times. Please keep us in your prayers and send us any questions you may have!

*Braxton's class is having an equipment drive for our soccer program this week!
*Barrett was able to visit with family and friends out east and share about our vision and mission
(it was an incredibly encouraging time!)
*We've had the opportunity to share at several of River Valley's church campuses

Today's question: "Are you moving to Haiti for good or just for a short time?"
We are Moving with no return date!  We need to finish raising monthly sponsors and get everything shipped. I want you all to be a part of this in anyway you can! It's so important to have a support group back here not only financially, but old and new friends who are interested in what we're doing, who can send words of encouragement!
